Porridge Smoothie

Just in time before the end of the week, here it comes my "Food for Runners" recipe! This week I was looking for healthy breakfast ideas, something to give you fuel for a morning run and set you up for the day.
Now, if you google "runners breakfast", porridge will surely come up as top result! Oats are healthy, filling and carbohydrates, so perfect for running. Personally I am not a fan, no matter how hard I try to like them during my wheat-free "detox" periods. So instead of warm porridge, I have used this recipe for Porridge Smoothie, a shake of milk, yogurt, oats and fresh fruit!
I had the most fun prepping up for the photo shoot in my bedroom and balcony! I really love the macro shots of blueberries and strawberries and I hope you will do too! :)
Ingredients
* 25g porridge oats * 300ml semi skimmed milk * 100g natural yogurt * 50g blueberries * 50g strawberries roughly chopped
(I have also added a few tbs of flaxseeds, as they are a natural source of Omega 3, iron, fibre and calcium)
Preparation
Place the oats and milk in a small saucepan and simmer for 2 minutes.
With a food processor blend the oats with the remaining ingredients, until smooth. Store in the fridge.
Disclaimer: my fiancé Sandy was not impressed by the smoothie as a drink, but I had it for breakfast with fresh fruit and granola and loved it!
