Terrone Coffee Pop-up in Brixton

Posted on

In February I wrote a post about Terrone Coffee: the coffee shack located in Netil Market is still open every Saturday (despite being affected by a fire that broke out at the market last month and damaged the shipping container where it's based).

Now - and for a month only - Terrone has opened a pop-up café in Brixton, inside Market Row, using the space of Wild Caper Deli.

I love Brixton Village and it's one of the first places I reviewed for Mondomulia last year, so I was very excited when Edy told me about the new Terrone pop-up! I also live in Brixton now, so visiting is definitely easier than crossing the city to Netil Market! ;)

At the pop-up they use the Terrone Ciclista blend: a mix of four Arabica coffee from Santo Domingo, Brazil, Mexico and Sumatra. The coffee is ground in a Nuova Simonelli grinder and made with La Marzocco espresso machine.

If you prefer filter coffee, they offer Stumptown coffee hand-brewed on the aeropress.

The new menu for Terrone's brew bar was designed by Apple & Pear, an Italian duo of graphic designers specialized in branding, print and web design. Working from their Clerkenwell studio, they have designed Terrone's new menus, labels, packaging and business cards (and done a fantastic job)!

The barista working alongside Edy at Terrone Coffee pop-up is Lucian Trapanese, a young talented Italian barista, latte art expert, espresso lover, who also works at Fred & Fran in Stoke Newington. His girlfriend Elena was also helping at the bar.

Other baristas that are part of "Team Terrore" and you may find in Netil Market or Brixton pop-up are Callum Hale Thomson Young Barista and Benjemyn Deyn.

I have been at the Brixton pop-up café a few times already and I was really impressed by the quality of the Macchiato and Flat White I tried. They were among the best coffee I had recently!

There is a great atmosphere at the Terrone Coffee pop-up, with many people coming and going everyday, especially at the weekend when Market Row and the nearby Brixton Village are heaving with foodies.

There are plenty of seats and food is served in the form of sourdough sandwiches (made by the amazing Bread Bread), pies and cakes. And if you are lucky, you may even find my Carrot Cake, as for the past two weekends I have been baking cakes and cookies to sell at Terrone's pop-up! :)

Terrone Coffee Pop-Up is open for a month only, so hurry up for a chance to visit it!

You can also find Terrone at the London Coffee Festival (25-28 April, Old Truman Brewery, Brick Lane, London). Edy will take part in the Coffee in Good Spirits competition tomorrow; Edy, Benjemyn and Callum are also competing in the UK Aeropress Championships on Saturday.

Terrone Coffee will be at the True Artisan Cafe on Sunday, 16:00 - 19:00, Bar One. I will be there! :)

Thanks for the read. And i am so engrossed about the designs they make above the coffees. Its so artistic and i find it too difficult to accomplish one simple one. Thanks for the photos. They tells more story.

I doubt I'll be able to make it over to Brixton, which is a shame, but I shall definitely pay a visit to them at the London Coffee Festival! Will your carrot cake by making an appearance?

Brian.

I'm afraid my carrot cake won't be on sale at the festival, but let me know next time you're in London and I'll make it for you! :)
